The Mile High Raptors

Raptorthon Date: April 12, 2025 (back-up date: April 13, 2025)

Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch is excited to announce this year’s Raptorthon fundraiser on April 12th! For our 3rd Raptorthon we will be conducting our main count on Dinosaur Ridge, and also inviting everyone to contribute by birding in a birding circle around the Hawk Watch during the 24 hour period.

The Mile High Raptor 2025 team includes: Emma Riley, Audrey Anderson, Laura Campbell, Laura Farnsworth, Haley Caron, Pam Moore, Natalie Uschner-Arroyo and Janet Peters and our flock of birders who will bird the circle. We hope to see lots of visitors on the ridge this year. Raptorthon is a great chance to come visit and see our counters in action. Even if you can’t come up, we would love for you to help us find as many birds as possible. This year has treated us to a few large migrant flights, so we are crossing our fingers for a big count this year. Maybe we will match our 2022 Raptorthon record of 254 migrants!

Raptorthon raises funds for both Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch and Hawk Migration Association (HMA) who work in tandem to collect and distribute essential raptor migration data from seasonal hawk counts. Half of the funds raised will go to each organization to continue the important work of monitoring raptor species populations to guide conservation efforts. Please consider a donation of any size to directly support HMA and The Mile High Raptors, and allow Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch to keep contributing to western hawk counts year after year.  Please visit www.dinosaurridgehawkwatch.org to find out more.

Thank you for your contribution and for supporting The Mile High Raptors Raptorthon team this year! If you would like to donate with a send a check rather than paying online, you can mail it to this
